Café Havana, Dubai, UAE
Café Havana is a restaurant chain in Dubai
owned by Bin Hendi Enterprises, the large enterprise
active in construction, retail and hospitality, but also
owner of one of the most important television stations
in the Arab Emirates. Also part of the group is
Baituti Designs, in the business of interior design
of the buildings belonging to the company.
Maud Amara has designed the interior of one of the most important of the Café Havana, from whose terraces one can admire the Burj Dubai, the highest skyscraper in the world. For the outside, the designers chose Sunny, our stacking armchair in lightweight plastic, for the inside Palm, the comfortable padded chair.
In their own words: "the intention was to create a new image, a new atmosphere. When you talk about "Café Havana " - he said - there immediately comes to mind a place in the tropics (just like Havana), and one thinks of a place for stopping to enjoy a coffee, or perhaps a cigar. This is the image that we wanted to reflect in the Interior Design."
The dominant orange and the wood contribute to creating a warm atmosphere. The waves suspended in transparent plastic, the wavy ceiling, the orange curve on the wall in wood panelling, have been created to suggest a cosy environment where people can dine.
"The choice of furnishings - Maud Amara specified - has been crucial: the Palm chair revealed itself to be ideal because it combines comfort and style. Its high quality, immediately obvious from the details like the finishes - for example the clean and tidy stitching, contribute to really making it a beautiful design piece".
