1st edition 2008-09

Over four hundred projects entered by more than two hundred and fifty designers, aged from twenty two to eighty nine, from thirty two nations: these were the numbers for the first edition of ONLY FOR WOMEN. A massive and unexpected response which, if on the one hand showed the paucity of occasions offered by the industry for feminine creativity, on the hand it makes us proud for having promoted this initiative. The four hundred and eighty four designs were made into a video presented at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano 2009, on the Area Declic stand (pav.6, D55).

The winners:

1st prize, € 1,500
Federica Lusiardi, for the BIPLANO extendable table that is characterised by an interesting ergonomic feature: either in the open position or the closed there is no interference between the seat and the table legs. The visible lightness of the design interprets well the Area Declic identity.

2nd prize, € 1,000
Mimma Rusconi, for the multi-purpose MY ROCK chair, a very communicative object characterised by flexibility of use. It fits well with one of the production trends of Area Declic: for the rotational moulding of the plastic material and its aesthetics, familiar to the company since 2002.

3rd prize, € 500
Alessandra Pasetti, for the KNIT - KNOT outdoors chair, a feminine approach to the classical bar chairs in aluminium. It can be stacked and adapted to either the contract or residential market. It is an offering that completes the product portfolio of Area Declic.
