AN UNFORGETTABLE MEETING
24.06.10
Group photo of all the agents from the Area Declic
contract sector. The photo was taken at the end
of a very intensive 3 days on the premises,
but it wasn’t all work…
This marks the first meeting following the synergy between four companies (Area Declic plus Fornasarig, Salotti Ursella and Veneta Sedie) who are on a mission to conquer the hotel contract market in Italy.
It all began on 23 June: after leaving their cars behind, it was all aboard for the group proceeding in the direction of Area Declic accompanied by laughter and smiles before descending on Tana del Lupo…
Tana del Lupo is a typical Friulian restaurant which serves
up the very best polenta. It is served directly on the table
and dressed fresh out of the pan. This is a hark back to tradition:
when polenta was served on a marble table for everyone to
help themselves.
Hard work was waiting for the group the following day however. First a visit to the factory followed by a presentation in the office. The President gave a tour of the premises, from the manufacturing areas through to quality control, packaging and the warehouse.
Happily disobeying rules, the group pays close attention to
the technical explanations: there were lots of questions and just as
many answers to get a better understanding of how a chair is really “built”.
Technical details were discussed which make the difference
between a product manufactured in Italy and products that
can never be classed as Made in Italy.
Next stop was the sample room which was turned into a conference room. Daniele Venturato, with the help of a video presentation told the company’s story, the strategy it wants to pursue and what really makes Area Declic chairs so special.
The bicolour Formula 40 4G Poly-tech look stunning all lined up,
with their white face and colourful backs.
And everyone is sat comfortably listening to why one designer is
chosen over another and how a project is born.
But there is always time for a joke and a coupleof laughs to
break up the day…
The last day was dedicated to culture: at Spessa castle, three architecture firms specialised in hotel interior design showcased their capacity and work, ranging from contemporary to modern plans with a specific focus on luxury.
Maurizio Riturante, head of contract in Italy, and his colleagues
Roberta and Solange, event organiser, called on Caberlon Caroppi
for their input on contemporary, FZ Design Fezzi and Frazuoli for
their visionary views and Filippo Cantoia for special projects which
are carried out with the help of Philippe Stark.
The day was wrapped up with a group photo.
