“ONLY FOR WOMEN” 2010 PRIZE GIVING

It was really quite exciting: Ekaterina Labinskaya, Angela Gilbert and Marcelle Van der Leeuw all came to pick their prizes up, even though Milan was suffering from the knock-on negative effects of the black cloud of volcanic ash spewed out by the Icelandic volcano, which all but paralysed the airports. Claudia Heiniger with Raffaella Cardia, and Vera Galeotti also managed to make it. Only Kynga Gajewska wasn’t as lucky to make it over in time from Poland.

The prize-giving followed the theme of strawberries, bananas and strucchi pastries (a typical Friuli product), and was bilingual and full of smiles. The Chairman gave a speech highlighting that the Area Declic truly believes in the creativity of women, and the Managing Director reiterated the strategic focus of the competition. The Commercial Director reinforced his approval of the projects that were submitted and is confident that they will become products.

The Area Declic has been able to benefit from new and unexpected links with the world of Design: each designer brought her own experience and contacts. This was the true synergy that the competition has created for us.
